Bio:
Kevin Scott is a genre-defying bassist and producer known for his deep pocket, adventurous spirit, and boundless versatility. Based in Brooklyn, NY by way of the South, Kevin has toured and recorded with legends across jazz, rock, funk, hip-hop, and experimental music, including John McLaughlin, Wayne Krantz, Jimmy Herring, Govt Mule, Russell Gunn, Donny McCaslin, FORQ, and Col. Bruce Hampton. Equally at home in the studio or on stage, his sound fuses raw improvisation with deep groove and sonic exploration. Kevin is also a dedicated educator, a co-founder of the experimental label 29th Street Editions, and a driving force behind projects like WAXpaper and Wednesday Night Titans (with drummer Zach Danziger). Whether anchoring a band or pushing musical boundaries, he brings intensity, heart, and instinct to everything he plays.

Acclaimed as a “Percussionist of rare versatility” and for compositions with “Deep Story Telling Expressiveness”, Percussionist and Composer John Arrucci returns to the Nashville Jazz Workshop after a thrilling debut as leader on vibraphone. This time, Arrucci leads his trio from the drums, joined by pianist Jon Cowherd and bassist Viktor Krauss.
Arrucci has appeared on four continents in performances and/or records alongside such notables as Michael Brecker, Mariah Carey, John Patitucci, Gil Goldstein, Oliver Lake, Richard Bona, Jane Ira Bloom, Gary Versace, David Byrne and Bob Brookmeyer.
In New York, he has taken the stage at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Symphony Space, the United Nations, Merkin Hall and other renowned Jazz venues.
Arrucci and his quartet will present three world premieres and also draw from his extensive repertoire of original music. Don’t miss this extraordinary event!

Jon Cowherd is a versatile jazz pianist, composer, and producer known for his lyrical touch and genre-blending artistry. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, he co-founded the acclaimed Brian Blade Fellowship, contributing to its rich, cinematic sound. Cowherd has collaborated with legends such as Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, and Cassandra Wilson. His solo albums, including Mercy and Pride & Joy, showcase his sophisticated compositional voice and deeply expressive playing, making him a vital force in modern jazz.
Viktor Krauss is a Nashville-based bassist, composer, and producer known for his genre-spanning collaborations with artists like Lyle Lovett, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, and James Taylor. A skilled instrumentalist and creative force, his solo work blends jazz, Americana, and rock—most notably on his acclaimed album Far From Enough. A Sundance Film Composers Lab fellow, Krauss also composes music for film and NPR, establishing himself as a versatile and sought-after figure in contemporary American music.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Katie Blomarz-Kimball is a dynamic bassist whose versatility and artistry have made her an in-demand collaborator across genres. A jazz studies graduate and Nashville resident for the past nine years, Katie has established herself as a creative force, performing everything from folk and Western swing to Americana and modern jazz. She is the newest member of the GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass powerhouse Sister Sadie, bringing her upright and electric bass skills—and signature vocal harmonies—to their celebrated sound.
Katie’s performance resume includes iconic stages like The Grand Ole Opry, Bonnaroo, MerleFest, AmericanaFest, Rocky Grass, Mountain Stage, and WinterGrass. She has shared the spotlight with artists such as Lauren Daigle, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Jim Lauderdale, Tommy Emmanuel, Kandace Springs, and Jack Pearson, among many others.
When not on tour, Katie is deeply active in the Nashville jazz scene, performing with ensembles such as the Ryan Middagh Jazz Orchestra, the Music City Big Band, and alongside vocalist Abigail Flowers. She also leads her own quartet, which explores repertoire from New Standards, the groundbreaking songbook curated by Terri Lyne Carrington. Whether on stage or in the studio, Katie continues to shape an eclectic and meaningful musical path.
