Scott Bradlee & Friends Present: In Search of Lost Melody

Tuesday, August 18th, 7:30 PM

Nashville Jazz Workshop

Join Postmodern Jukebox founder Scott Bradlee, his jazz trio, and an array of guest stars on a wild tour across the nostalgic melodies of the 20th century — from the 1920s to the present day.

Bradlee is the pianist, arranger, and bandleader behind Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, the revolving collective he started in a Queens basement in 2010 with a simple idea: reimagine the pop hits of today as the timeless sounds of yesteryear. Ragtime, hot jazz, swing, doo-wop, Motown — recast for the internet age. Over a decade later, that idea has become a genuine cultural fixture, with a YouTube channel past six million subscribers and two billion views, and more than a thousand shows played across six continents.

For one night in the Jazz Cave, Bradlee brings that sensibility back to the room it belongs in: an intimate club, a great piano, a trio, and a rotating cast of singers and players. Expect familiar melodies you won't quite place at first, arrangements that jump decades mid-tune, and the kind of loose, high-wire fun that only happens when great musicians are given room to play.
