Sullivan Sings & Swings

Saturday, October 10, 2026, 7:30 PM

Nashville Jazz Workshop

Bassist and vocalist Jimmy Sullivan steps out from the rhythm section for an evening in the Jazz Cave. The program moves between jazz standards, modern songs reimagined, and original material — including new horn arrangements written for Sullivan's vocal features — with Sullivan filling the space between tunes with the stories behind them.

A native of Virginia, Sullivan has risen to the top tier of Nashville's rhythm section ranks, earning a reputation as a versatile, imaginative, and in-demand bassist. He has recorded and performed with Lee Ann Womack, Mark Collie, Ashley Campbell, and the genre-defying collective Postmodern Jukebox. A familiar presence on the Nashville jazz scene, he maintains a bimonthly residency at Rudy's Jazz Room and performs regularly alongside local luminaries including Andy Reiss, Tabitha Meeks, Andrew Carney, and Sarah Aili, as well as internationally recognized artists Nicole Zuraitis, Laila Biali, and Alyssa Allgood. His artistry was recognized with a Nashville Industry Music Award for Best Jazz Instrumentalist in 2018.

He'll be joined by Ty Bailie (piano) and Marlon Patton (drums), with horns to be announced.

Free parking and BYOB at Nashville Jazz Workshop.
