Nashville favorite Paulo Oliveira returns to the Jazz Cave with Fusion Influences, a deep dive into the worlds of modern jazz and electric fusion.

A guitarist whose playing bridges Brazilian tradition, classical technique and contemporary jazz, Oliveira has shared stages with Christian McBride, Randy Brecker, Chester Thompson, Jeff Coffin, John Clayton, Sean Jones and Mike Mainieri, and has performed everywhere from the Aspen Music Festival to the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival in Brazil. He serves as Coordinator of Guitar Studies at Belmont University.

For this show he turns toward the electric side, previewing material from a new album arriving later this year. He's joined by a formidable band: Ric Fierabracci on bass, Matt Twaddle on keys, and Bob Harsen on drums. Expect sophisticated grooves, adventurous solos, and modern harmonic landscapes in a powerful, genre-defying performance.
