About Maestro:
Maestro Lightford is a Nashville-born, Los Angeles-based composer, producer, conductor, and bandleader whose work blends jazz, contemporary music, and popular culture. He has worked with acclaimed artists including Mickey Guyton, Ledisi, Corbin Bleu, Dave Stewart, Keb’ Mo’, Kirk Whalum, Michael McDonald, and many more. As a composer, Lightford co-composed VH1’s first Christmas movie special, Adventures in Christmasing, and served as lead composer for the musical biopic Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story, currently streaming on Hulu. He has also released a big band album, entitled SIR WELLINGTON.
Now, Lightford is taking his love for big band music in a fresh direction with Flip That Hit—a creative concept that transforms familiar songs across genres into bold, dynamic big band arrangements. Blending the energy and sophistication of jazz with the songs audiences already know and love, Flip That Hit invites listeners to experience their favorite music in a completely new way—and, most importantly, sing along.
