This intermediate to advanced ensemble is open to rhythm section and horn players. Join Big Band Ensemble with Jeff Adams, who retired from a career with the Army’s Jazz Ambassadors where he initially held the Jazz chair and later retired as lead trombonist. With a focus on authentic recreation through detailed listening and rehearsal, students will learn and perform important big band compositions and arrangements from the earlier bands of Ellington, Basie, Kenton, etc., through to the next generation of composers/arrangers like Abene, Curnow, and Goodwin.
