Ken Perkerwicz

Ken Perkerwicz is an active upright and electric bass player throughout the Nashville community. A graduate of the prestigious Jazz Studies program at the University of North Texas, Ken developed a solid foundation in improvisation, theory, and ensemble playing—skills that have shaped his distinctive voice on the bass.

Originally from the Minnesota, Ken was drawn to music at an early age, starting on electric bass before eventually expanding to upright. His early influences ranged from local jazz greats such as mentor Anthony Cox and jazz groups such as Happy Apple to more contemporary voices in soul, funk, and indie. This broad musical palette informs his ability to move fluidly across genres, from jazz to americana, soul, and r&b

Since relocating to Nashville, Ken has become an in-demand bassist for both live performances and studio sessions. His versatility and musical sensitivity have earned him opportunities to collaborate with a variety of artists, from singer-songwriters and jazz ensembles to touring acts. In addition to his work as a sideman, Ken has contributed original compositions such as instrumental soul outfit Tennessee Rhythm Company, to modern jazz arrangements under his own name, showcasing his creativity beyond the role of performer.

You can see Ken perform regularly throughout the Nashville scene at renowned venues such as Urban Cowboy, Skull’s Rainbow Room, and Rudy’s Jazz Room, where his playing and collaborative spirit have made him a staple of the city's thriving musical community.
