Nashville Jazz Workshop presents Grammy-nominated trumpeter Wayne Bergeron in concert with the Ryan Middagh Jazz Orchestra on Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 PM at the Paschall Theater in the Davis Building on the Montgomery Bell Academy campus.

Bergeron first rose to prominence in 1986 as lead trumpet for Maynard Ferguson and has since become one of the most recorded lead trumpet players in the world, featured on more than 500 film and television soundtracks. His solos can be heard in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story, La La Land, The Incredibles, Rocky Balboa, and the Despicable Me franchise, and his session credits span Ray Charles to Beyoncé.

The Ryan Middagh Jazz Orchestra is a Nashville-based big band led by saxophonist, composer, and arranger Ryan Middagh, Director of Jazz Studies at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. Their most recent album, Tenor Madness, drew international praise.

The APC Studios Summer Jazz Big Band, drawn from the next generation of young Nashville jazz musicians, opens the evening.

Tickets are $40 general admission, with a 25% student discount available. Additional parking is available at the Vine Street Christian Church lot.
