Created by collaborators and friends Daniel Fiamengo and Haley Schattschneider, “The Piano Man: A Billy Joel Jazz Tribute” reimagines beloved Billy Joel catalog through a fresh lens. Audiences will hear inventive takes on classics like “Movin’ Out,” “Vienna,” “Just the Way You Are,” “And So It Goes” and so many more. Rooted in deep respect for Joel’s songwriting, this tribute celebrates his legacy while inviting listeners to hear these songs in a whole new way. Made for Billy Joel fans, jazz lovers, and anyone drawn to the evolving American songbook; this show bridges generations and genres. Fiamengo and Schattschneider are grateful to be debuting “The Piano Man” in the heart of Music City, at the Nashville Jazz Workshop.
About Daniel Fiamengo
Recognized for his contributions to the musical landscape, Daniel Fiamengo is a Colorado-born composer, arranger, recording artist, and educator, honored with five DownBeat awards. His approach to music seeks to challenge and inspire, blending diverse musical influences into a tapestry that resonates with audiences. Drawing from a rich array of genres, Fiamengo infuses familiar sounds with a contemporary flair, creating a unique musical experience.
Fiamengo's compositions are characterized by their fusion of contemporary musical idioms with his own distinctive harmonic language, resulting in a sound that is uniquely his own. His work showcases a depth of versatility, leaving a lasting impression on listeners.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Fiamengo shares his passion for music as an Instructor of Commercial Music at Tiffin University in Tiffin, OH. Outside of academia, he contributes work as a freelance composer and arranger to various projects from Nashville all the way up to the American Midwest. His original commercial music works are accessible on major music streaming platforms. Fiamengo's academic background includes a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music from Belmont University and a Master of Music in Studio Jazz Writing from the University of Miami.

Haley Schattschneider is a Nashville-based vocalist and music entrepreneur who moved to Music City in 2019 to attend Belmont University. Raised by two musicians, she grew up in a home that cherished a vast range of music, from the Great American Songbook and works of classical composers to modern heroes like Harry Connick Jr. and Billy Joel. Today, Haley blends traditional and contemporary influences to approach jazz singing in a way that honors the craft while connecting with both lifelong listeners and new audiences. Her recent recordings feature collaborations with acclaimed musicians and arrangers including Sam Levine, Jon Cowherd, Oli Parker, Leif Shires, and Daniel Fiamengo, with ongoing releases in 2026 and beyond.
Her debut album, Over the Moon (released July 18, 2025 via Club44 Records), showcases eight moon-inspired classics—including Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words), Moon River, and Dancing in the Moonlight—as a nod to her hometown of Wapakoneta, also the boyhood home of Neil Armstrong. Singles from the album reached Top 20, Top 10, and Top 5 on the iTunes Jazz charts and have earned hundreds of thousands of streams worldwide. Working heavily across jazz and gospel genres, Haley has provided studio and live vocals for artists including Stephen Schwartz, Sheryl Crow, Amy Grant, Blessing Offor, and Phil Wickham, and collaborates with clients worldwide as a background vocalist, demo singer, vocal contractor, and arranger.
