Sound as Liberation Sessions: Regeneration

A Father and Son Collaboration with Rod McGaha and Mike Floss

Saturday, June 20, 2026 | 7:30 PM | The Jazz Cave $35

Rod McGaha is joined by his son, Mike Floss, for a special Juneteenth weekend performance entitled Regeneration. A deeply personal father and son collaboration that explores the importance of multigenerational dialogue, healing, and creative expression within the Black community.

Through music, spoken word, improvisation, and conversation, McGaha and Floss bridge generations, reflecting on how wisdom, struggle, hope, and artistic vision are passed forward, reimagined, and transformed. The evening highlights the enduring strength of family and the ways creativity can foster connection across age, experience, and perspective. Visual art and audience conversation are part of the night.

"Regeneration represents both personal and collective renewal," says McGaha. "It is about honoring what has been passed down to us while recognizing what we are building together in the present moment. A celebration of family, creativity, resilience, and the continuing pursuit of freedom."

Presented as part of the Sound as Liberation Sessions, this performance offers a moving reflection on legacy, love, and the transformative power of artistic collaboration.

Doors open at 7:00 PM. BYOB. Light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
