NJW Highlights of 2006
2006 was a big year for the
Workshop – it began with
the Vocal Ensemble
performing at IAJE in New
York and culminated with a
tour de force solo piano
performance by Kenny
Barron. Some things along
the way:
- visits from jazz legends
and up-and-coming artists:
the Jazz Cave started
picking up a buzz nationally,
with top artists wanting to
add us to their tour
schedule;
- Snap on 2 & 4 became
THE place to be,
consistently selling out;
- our radio show, Live from
the Workshop, debuted on
WMOT;
- a live album by Pete
Christlieb, recorded in the
Cave;
- we had our most
successful fall fundraiser
ever;
- a new website;
- plans for a 2000+ square
foot space addition.
WHEW -- and that's just last
year. So far, 2007 looks just
as exciting. We're glad
you're with us to enjoy the
ride!
