How To Put a Tour Together
Presented by Jeff Coffin, saxophonist of Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones and his own Mu'tet. Learn what it takes to put together a working tour. Here are some of the many things we will cover: figuring out your budget, accommodations, food, hiring musicians, merchandise, getting a road manager, getting music together, when and how to travel, working with club owners and agents, collecting money, making contracts, etc...you will learn how to do all of this by putting together your own one week "mock tour."
As musicians, we rarely find ourselves on the "other side" of the music, having to put together tours, handle the money, travel, the music and musicians, etc...this will give you a glimpse of what managers, booking agents and road managers have to deal with on a daily basis. It's very useful information to have.
